 Post subject: Armstrong, William Kenneth, Co. "D"

My Great Uncle William, 52nd Ohio Volunteer Militia, was in the Union Army beginning in April 1863. At the end of his service he was in Battery "I" 2nd Illinois Artillery, Chattanooga, Tennessee. He was wounded in a charge on Rebel Breast Works at Kennesaw Mountain on June 27, 1864. His wounds required amputation of a leg, but he ended up bleeding to death; he was 21 years old. I have a copy of his personal diary detailing his service to our country; it was passed on to me by my Mother. Thank you for letting me honor my Great Uncle. Don Smith
